Abstract

The church as a legal entity has a legal status, including in land ownership. Based on Article 4 of Government Regulation Number 38 of 1963, the Simalungun Protestant Christian Church (GKPS) is authorized to own land. This study aims to analyze the legal strength of the church as a legal entity, legal protection for the church as a recipient of land grants for houses of worship and the resolution of disputes over land grant ownership. This study uses a descriptive normative juridical method with qualitative analysis. The results show that legal protection is provided in a preventive and repressive manner and dispute resolution is carried out through internal, non-litigation and litigation approaches.
