Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the normative construction and patterns of legal harmonization in the settlement of inheritance disputes at the Aceh Sharia Court within the framework of legal pluralism. The research is grounded in the complexity of interactions between Islamic law, civil law and Aceh’s special status within the Indonesian national legal system. This study employs a normative juridical method with statutory and case-based approaches. The findings reveal that the settlement of inheritance disputes in the Aceh Sharia Court does not merely reflect a dualistic application of legal systems, but rather demonstrates an integrative model that is contextual, adaptive and oriented toward substantive justice. The main contribution of this research lies in identifying an evolving judicial practice that reconstructs dispute resolution patterns through normative harmonization, moving beyond the conventional dichotomy between Islamic and civil law. In conclusion, the inheritance dispute resolution system in Aceh exhibits a hybrid legal character that enhances legal effectiveness through the integration of Sharia values and national legal principles.
